



Joseph Heim’s is the Director, Supply Chain Planning & Analysis at Genie Industries in Redmond, WA, where his responsibilities include taking charge of direct supply chain strategy and development of supporting information infrastructure and being involved in evaluation of offshore sourcing and leveraging of parent (TEREX) purchasing resources. He has served on the Engineering Faculty of the University of Washington and continues as adjunct faculty teaching one or two courses/year.
Previously, as a Senior Program Officer at the National Research Council, Manufacturing Studies Board, Joseph directed national studies concerned with manufacturing and technology policy. He has also been a Program Officer and J Herbert Hollomon Fellow at the National Academy of Engineering in Washington, DC.
Joseph was a Co-founder and Executive of InfoSystems Design and Integrated Production Systems, firms that designed and developed computer system solutions (hardware and software) for medical, financial accounting, manufacturing, and a variety of other vertical business applications. He also worked as a Design Engineer for Chemetron Corp, a Product Development Engineer for Ford Motor Company, and served as a Combat Engineer in the United States Army.
Joseph has a Ph.D from Purdue University, School of Industrial Engineering, an MSIE from Purdue University, School of Industrial Engineering, an MECS from the University of Louisville, School of Engineering, in Math and Computer Science, and a BSME from the University of Louisville, School of Engineering, in Mechanical Engineering. He has studied Lean Manufacturing with Shingujitsu Consultants in Japan.
