House Bill 2726 Helps WMS & Small Manufacturers
March 15, 2006

Washington Manufacturing Services (WMS) announced today that legislation introduced by Maralyn Chase, State Representative of the 32nd District, has been signed by the State Government giving WMS the statutory authority it needs to leverage more federal dollars and help more small manufacturing firms in Washington. The bill was unanimously approved by the House and Senate during the recently concluded legislative session.

“WMS is gratified by this vote of confidence from the House and Senate in their unanimous approval of Rep. Maralyn Chase’s bill,” WMS president John Vicklund said. “With the passage of this bill the legislature is making a statement that Washington’s manufacturers will continue to be world leaders and continue to help grow WA economy.”

Chase said the bill should help small businesses. “Many small manufacturers in Washington who have worked with WMS are already showing that you don’t have to be big to compete in the global market, you just need to make and market good products efficiently,” Chase said.
