Washington Manufacturing Services (WMS) has awarded its “Friend of Manufacturing” award to Senator Paull Shin.
The award recognizes a person in government who has worked for the advancement of manufacturing in Washington State.
“Senator Shin has done a remarkable job in supporting small manufacturers in Washington State”, said John Vicklund, President of Washington Manufacturing Services. “He has worked tirelessly to ensure that small manufacturers are supported and has endorsed legislative to assist manufacturing workers training, manufacturing expansion and organizations that champion manufacturers”.
In 2006 Senator Shin sponsored legislation (SB 6326) the Customized Employment Workforce Training program. It enables manufacturers and community colleges to jointly develop customized workforce training programs that are partly financed by business and occupation tax credits.
