John Vicklund currently serves as President for Washington Manufacturing Services. WMS is the Washington State center for the Federal Manufacturing Extension Partnership program. It operates as a nonprofit consulting company that provides fee-for-service consulting in business management and manufacturing process and technology to small and mid-sized manufacturing companies in Washington State.
Prior to joining WMS, John served as vice president of human resources for Data I/O Corporation, the world leader in semiconductor device programming and handling solutions. He previously served as vice president of human resources for 20 years at ELDEC Corporation, a leading aerospace electronics manufacturer with annual revenues in excess of $100 million. In addition to ELDEC, John has held senior-level human resource positions with Pacific Aerospace & Electronics, Inc., a manufacturer of aerospace and electronics parts with revenues in excess of $100 million; Hatch & Kirk, a distributor and manufacturer of diesel engines and parts with annual revenues of $50 million; and Canyon Creek Cabinet Company, a semi-custom cabinetry manufacturer for residential construction with annual revenues of $50 million.
John currently serves as a Board member for the Washington State Quality Award organization. He previously served as Vice Chair of the WMS Board of Directors and has served as Chair of the Human Resources Committees for the American Electronics Association, at both the state and national level. He has worked closely at the state and local levels on economic development, education and employment, working with universities and technical & community colleges and serving as the vice chair for the Washington State Employment and Training Council and both King and Snohomish County Private Industry Councils.
