Training Programs - Value Stream Mapping
This course offers the opportunity to learn to “see the flow” of information and materials throughout the value stream. Participants will learn to map current and future state information and material flows. They will also learn to develop an implementation plan that will provide a foundation to successfully carry out the changes necessary to take a company from the present state to the future state.
Participants will:
- Learn to identify and evaluate capacity, value-added and non-value-added activities, constraints, resources and lead-times in the value stream
- Learn to draw a current and future state map of the value stream
- Learn the steps necessary to eliminate the waste in the value stream identified by developing the value stream map, and changes needed to achieve the enhanced future state
- Learn to create an implementation plan taking the data from the future state map to define the changes necessary to successfully move to the future state
